Would your community organisation benefit from a more positive media profile? Are you prepared to face the media if a crisis affects your community?
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship (OMAC) is offering an Intermediate Training Course to equip senior and up-and-coming leaders from culturally and religiously diverse communities, with the know-how to advance their organisational and community interests; and to effectively represent and promote their community to the media. The course will be conducted in Melbourne over 3 sessions: Thursday 28th August, Tuesday 4th September and Thursday 6th September 2012. Successful applicants must attend all three sessions.
The Intermediate Training Course targets people with some experience engaging the media; as well as those who have no experience as yet, but have an interest in learning more about this area. For some participants, this course will be a sound introduction to the world of the media. For others, it will be a means of building on their initial experience and knowledge of the media. Participants will receive personal one-on-one advice and support from trainers, materials and an interview evaluation DVD.
Applications for expressions of interest will be accepted from 20 June 2012 to Friday 20 July 2012.
