 ssociation that exists as a legacy of the Parliament of World’s Religions 
 held in Melbourne in 2009.  It aims are encourage inter-religious respect\
 , understanding\, and partnership\, facilitate interfaith activities and e
 vents\, and resource strategic\, long-term cooperation between civic\, com
 munity\, and faith-based organisations.\nFor local governments working wit
 h diverse communities to promote progressive social change is core busines
 s. Faith-based organisations and religious leaders in rural\, regional\, a
 nd metropolitan areas constitute important parts of our local communities\
 , and make exciting contributions to Victoria's multi-layered cultural lan
 dscape.\nTo help local governments and inter-faith groups work together fo
 r the benefit of their community\, the Cities of Harmony Program is holdin
 g a Workshop on Thursday 10 March\, aiming to:1. Help local governments an
 d inter-faith groups work together to build bridges and encourage cooperat
 ion between diverse cultural and faith traditions.2. Help local government
 s utilise religious richness and diversity to cultivate congenial\, peacef
 ul communities.3. Help inter-faith groups and other community leaders inco
 rporate the cultural wisdom and experiences of religious and spiritual com
 munities to strengthen the community as a whole.\nThe Workshop will be a h
 alf day forum from 9am to 1pm\, hosted by Wyndham City Council.\nLocal gov
 ernment teams will consider the depth and breadth of council engagement wi
 th faith-based communities and organisations within their municipalities\,
  and share their experiences and perspectives in addressing the challenge 
 of promoting harmony amongst diverse cultural\, ethnic\, and religious gro
