She is a parent\, has a Diploma in Education (Prim) and Post-Graduat e Diploma in Early Childhood Education\, is engaged with diverse community development programs supported by the Baha’i community and has participat ed in numerous professional development programs for various industries. A person of varied life experience her passion for children comes from a de sire to contribute to building a better world and her belief that through action\, individuals can make a difference in their world. In 2001 she ini tiated a grass roots character development program known as Sharing Circle s that contributes to the character and spiritual development of children. She will draw from her own experiences in life\, theories of education an d practical insights gained through working with children from differing b ackgrounds to share a model of how education can celebrate diversity!\nDr Duncan Reid: Dr Reid is an Anglican priest with responsibilities for St Ge orge's Church in Travancore and teaching religious education at Camberwell Girls Grammar School. He also serves on the International Commission for Anglican - Orthodox Theological Dialogue. He completed his doctorate in th eology at the University of Tuebingen in Germany\, and worked in theologic al education for 15 years\, including three years as head of the School of Theology at Flinders University Adelaide and four years as dean of the Un ited Faculty of Theology Melbourne.\nMr Inderbir Singh: Mr Singh a member of the MVIN Committee\, will be sharing the Sikh perspective on the import ance of education of children. Mr Singh a local resident in Moonee Valley\ , along with his wife and two sons\, love living in Multicultural Melbourn e\nProf Nalin Sharda: Prof Sharda gained his Bachelor of Technology. & Ph. D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. Presently he teaches and leads research in innovative applications of Information Techn ology\, such as Digital Storytelling\, at the College of Engineering and S cience\, Victoria University\, Australia. He has been invited as an Erasmu s Visiting Professor at Aachen University -Germany\, and as Visiting Profe ssor at Karlstad University -Sweden\, Jaypee University of Information Tec hnology -India\, and Florida Atlantic University -USA. He has written over 100 Hindi and English poems and published some of these in international anthologies. He has won awards at the Glen Ira Literary Awards and the Fel lowship of Australian Writers for his short stories\, film scripts and pla ys. Through the pra xis of interfaith dialogue some headway has already been made on this path to peace\, understanding and collaboration.\nWithin Roman Catholicism\, t he Second Vatican Council\, convened by Pope John XXIII\, heightened the c onsciousness of the Church with regard to other religions. His successor\, Pope Paul VI\, had as his first encyclical the 1964 document Ecclesiam Su am (subtitled 'paths of the church') where dialogue was promoted as the ne w way of being Church. Hence\, the theme of the present conference\, begin ning with 'paths to dialogue'\, commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of t he proclamation of this landmark document. The topic of dialogue was given further attention in the 1965 document Nostra Aetate ('in our age') which counseled the Church to be in 'dialogue and collaboration with the follow ers of other religions'.\nWhile celebrating the bold spirit of dialogue ex pressed in these two documents\, we are conscious that much has changed in the world in the last half century\, even within the sphere of inter-reli gious relations.
