 nglican Archbishop of Melbourne in December 2006\, following seven and a h
 alf years as Bishop of the Northern Territory.  Since coming to Melbourne\
 , Dr Freier has been working towards engaging the Church with the wider co
 mmunity\, particularly through his ‘Prayer4Melbourne’ quest\, in which he 
 has visited a range of public spaces\, welfare centres and shopping malls\
 , in order to meet people from all walks of life.  The Archbishop is close
 ly involved in a range of community organisations\, and is strongly commit
 ted to social justice issues\, with a particular concern for Indigenous pe
 ople.  His public Breakfast Conversations have included themes of the risi
 ng incidence of childhood depression\, asylum seekers and refugees\, globa
 l warming and world poverty\, and the pursuit of happiness.  He has called
  for a national inquiry into the state of childhood in Australia. Sydney-b
 orn Rabbi Dovid Gutnick studied at Yeshivah College in Melbourne before at
 tending the Rabbinical College of Australia and New Zealand\, Rabbinical C
 ollege of Canada and Yeshivah Ohr Elchonon in Los Angeles.  He received hi
 s s’micha (rabbinic ordination) at the Rabbinical College of America in Ne
 w Jersey.  Like his father and grandfather before him\, Dovid proudly serv
 es in the Australian Defence Force Reserves as the army’s Jewish Chaplain.
   The rebbetzin\, Rachel\, takes an active role in the synagogue\, its con
 gregation and its excellent functions.  They have 4 wonderful sons.Contact
