Walking the Camino de Santiago
A Spiritual Pilgrimage along the Way of St James to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Dates: Tuesday 25th September to Friday 5th October, 2012 (11 days/10 nights)
The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne is pleased to announce this spiritual pilgrimage together with Nativa Travel, for an intimate group of people as we walk along The Way of St James, where legend has it that the remains of the Apostle Saint James the Great, are buried.
The Pilgrimage is for interested people of all ages and faith backgrounds who wish to reflect on their life’s journey as they walk around 20 km per day at their own pace. As you add your footprints to the millions who have travelled before you ‐ including such legendary pilgrims as St Francis of Assisi, Charlemagne, and Pope John Paul II ‐ you become part of the Camino’s ongoing history.
The pilgrims will be escorted by Rev Helen Summers, who completed the Camino in 2001, and an experienced bilingual guide who will drive a support vehicle and meet the group at regular intervals throughout each day’s walking stage. The van will carry all luggage, pilgrims will walk with a day pack only.
To register your interest and for further information, please contact: Rev Helen Summers, email: helen.summers@westnet.com.au or phone The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne on +61‐3‐9650 7163.
Places are limited so please register your interest by July 31st.
