Shepherd of Flora and Fauna is a multi-faith event promoting an understanding of different faiths. Through discussions of the various religious beliefs regarding the environment and animal rights, this event aims to promote respectful relationships between the different faiths, and an understanding of each others similarities and differences.
This event is hosted by Zamzam Green Environment Sustainability Project in partnership with JCMA, and Green Faith Australia. Shepherd of Flora and Fauna aims to provide an opportunity for members of different faith groups to network, as well as an opportunity for Muslims to engage with the broader community and vice versa.
Speaking on the issues of the environment and animal rights, Islamic teacher Yahya Ibrahim will shed light on Islam’s deep respect for God’s creation. Islam is a religion whose core belief is in the true oneness of God as the Creator and Master of all things and acceptance of Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the last and final Prophet and messenger of God.
Attendees will be treated to hearing from Rabbi Jonathon Karen Black on the Jewish perspective on the above issues of faith, belief and the environment and creation.
