Description: Bandi Chhor Divas, also known as ‘The Celebration of Freedom’, commemorates the release in 1619 CE from prison of the sixth Sikh guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Ji. Sikhs continue this annual celebration with lamps being lit outside gurdwaras and sweets distributed to all.
