Through the month of April and May, the Moonee Valley Interfaith Network ran four mosaic workshops facilitated by artist Oznur Ates and funded by the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
A group of 12 women from religiously diverse communities came together to design and complete their own mosaic mirrors and to contribute to a large mosaic mural exploring faith and spirituality.
The final artwork was of a garden of flowers. The women felt that just like a flower, each faith is unique and beautiful in it’s own way, and when they come together in unity, they add colour, diversity and richness to the community.
This artwork was bequest to the Moonee Valley City Council on the 14 July public forum as a thank-you for their ongoing support.
