More about the Speakers:
- Venerable Bhikkhuni Bodhicitta is a Sri Lankan Theravada Buddhist nun who is based in Melbourne, Australia. She is the Spiritual Director of International Centre for Inner Peace and Happiness Inc. in Victoria, and Buddhist Chaplain at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She has conducted numerous meditation retreats, lectures, Dhamma talks, and discussions in Australia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. She is a renowned meditation teacher with over 25 years of experience.
- Anda McMillan joined The World Peace Prayer Society in 2013 (the organisation was founded in Japan in 1950) and has since coordinated a small but enthusiastic group of peace advocates in West Gippsland. The group meets twice monthly to share practices which promote the idea that world-wide peace begins with developing inner peace at the individual level. The group has also hosted community events, as part of world-wide initiatives such as Symphony of Peace Prayers, a forum to encourage interfaith dialogue, and the UN-based International Day of Peace.
- Irene Anania is a member of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, which was founded in Korea in 1954. Irene has run her Wellness Therapies practice (Change Dynamics) since 2008, while at the same time teaching on and off and also running seminars and workshops for carers of people with mental health issues.
- Param Kaur is the Co-director of Sikh Australian Support for Family Violence (SASAF). She is also a kindergarten teacher and a volunteer with Sikh Interfaith Council of Victoria. She will be sharing with us the testimony of her life of faith: her process of learning about love and dedication, taught to her from her mum since she was at a young age; and her journey to embrace her faith and values.
- Geeta Devi serves in several not for profit organisations as the: Victorian State President of Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia Inc. (World Hindu Council of Australia); and the Founding & Executive member of Indiancare Inc. She is also a life member of: Hindu Society of Victoria Inc (Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple, Carrum Downs); and Telugu Association of Australia Inc. In these roles Geeta Devi is involved in delivering various community projects and strives to spread the message of unity in diversity and to promote Sanatana Dharma values.
