The Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne presents:
Marriage: An Interfaith Symposium
Date: Monday September 30 - Wednesday October 2, 2013
Location: Thomas Carr Centre, 278 Victoria Parade East Melbourne VIC 3002
Symposium aims:
The program will provide participants with knowledge and insight into how each religious tradition understands the institution of marriage, prepares for and celebrates weddings, and supports married couples through the many joys and difficulties of life.
The three day program will cover:
A. The theology and Anthropology of Marriage
B. Preparation for and Rituals of Marriage
C. Contemporary Pastoral Issues surrounding Marriage
Recommended for:
* Pastoral care workers
* Lawyers and ethicists
* Marriage and relationship counsellors
* Teachers and theologians
* Marriage celebrants
* Civic and political leaders
* Leaders and members of the different faith communities
* Others interested in interfaith approaches to the human person
