In Pursuit of Happiness Seminar Series: Reaching beyond ourselves | Maroondah Interfaith Network

From March 21, 2020 18:00 until March 21, 2020 21:00

Maroondah Interfaith Network invites you to:

In Pursuit of Happiness Seminar Series: Reaching beyond ourselves
Harmony Day Dinner

Date: Saturday 21 March 2020     Time: 6pm to 9pm
Location: Federation Estate, 32 Greenwood Avenue, Ringwood VIC 3134

A number of people from different faith backgrounds - Buddhist, Christian, Hindu - will speak about how we can reach beyond the mundane nature of life. Additional commentary will be provided by a psychologist and community development officer. Discussion of the input will take place over a meal. People of all faiths and no faith are welcome to participate in this event as we celebrate Harmony Day - recognising our differences and exploring our common humanity.

Religious faith has been a major means of reaching beyond ourselves. Today, many people reach beyond themselves through art, music, and being in nature. What truly helps us to reach beyond the mundane nature of life?

A variety of speakers from various religious backgrounds (Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic and Protestant Christian) will reflect briefly on the topic as a prelude to group discussion.

It will include a simple meal.

Cost: Free | Please register here by 14 March 2020.

This series of seminars is organised by the Maroondah Interfaith Network in conjunction with the Karuna Project. The Karuna Project is an interfaith project to grow an unconditional love centre where all are welcome, whatever their spiritual perspective. (Karuna is a Sanskrit word for compassion).

The seminar series has been made possible by a grant from the Maroondah City Council
