Background on the 'Peace One Day' Initiative
We have been following an event called the 'Peace One day' initiative for a few years now. It is a global event and we felt it would be a good idea to link in with the energy of this day to unveil our peace plaque, to help support it and to help contribute in some way to generating Peace in our part of the world. So as part of a global event 'Peace One Day 'we will be joining with others around the world to focus on and reflect on Peace.
The theme this year is "Who will You Make Peace With?". Peace within ourselves, our communities and around the world, an annual day of global unity, a day of intercultural cooperation.
You can find out more information about "Peace One Day" at http://peaceoneday.org. There is also a faith group which they call the faith coalition which aims to bring together some of the world's most prominent religious figures together. Here, the Founder of the Elijah Interfaith Institute shares his personal reflections on Peace Day, the theme of 'Who Will You Make Peace With?', and the transformative power of prayer to radiate peace http://peaceoneday.org/faith-coalition/
Pray together on peace day for a more peaceful and sustainable world.
