This forum will take the form of a lively conversation between Prof. John Pawlikowski OSM (of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago) and Rabbi John Levi (Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Beth Israel in Melbourne) on contemporary religious and social issues in the context of interfaith relations.

It will be facilitated by Prof. John D'Arcy May and Rabbi Fred Morgan, both professorial fellows of ACU's Faculty of Theology and Philosophy.

Following the conversation Prof. Pawlikowski will be awarded an honorary doctorate from ACU by Pro-Chancellor Mr Ted Exell.

Speakers:

  • Dr. John Levi was the first Australian-born ordained rabbi and a pioneer in Australian ethnic broadcasting and has written several books on Jews in Australia and Jewish-Christian Dialogue.
  • Professor Pawlikowski was the President of the Theology Committee of the International Council of Christians and Jews and served on the Board of Directors of the Parliament of the Worlds’ Religions.
