Gippsland now has a much more diverse population, including people from a wide range of faiths. Working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds includes developing an understanding faiths in our region, and how our services can be best delivered to meet the needs of our diverse community.

Forum Overview
This short forum will provide participants with an understanding of:
•    The Muslim community
•    The Buddhist community
•    The Hindu community
•    And barriers which prevent service access.

Forum content will include: Understanding Diverse and Newly Emerging Faiths in Gippsland
•    An overview of Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism
•    Understanding the myths and misconceptions regarding the Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu
•    communities in Australia
•    Customs and cultural expectations
•    Improving cultural sensitivity
An overview of resources available

Speakers
Members of each of these communities will present information on the above and on issues experienced in the Gippsland region.
