Welcome to FCCV

Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.

FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

Holocaust Memorial Service: Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches of Melbourne

From May 05, 2026 18:30 until May 05, 2026 20:15

The Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches of Melbourne invite you to:

Holocaust Memorial Service

Date: Tuesday 5 May 2026      Time: 6:15pm
Location: Our Lady of Sion College (Miriam Performing Arts Centre), 1065 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill VIC 3128

We live in a world where dehumanisation, prejudice, and hatred continue to undermine the well-being of people globally. As we gather to remember the events of the Holocaust (1933-1945), we are deeply aware of the rise in antisemitism and of the tragic events that occurred at Bondi Beach, where members of the Jewish community were targeted at an event celebrating light and life. We are also deeply concerned by the rise in Islamophobia and racism. We invite you to join us as we gather to listen, to learn, to respond and to work together in mutual trust and respect to help create a more compassionate, peaceful and just world. We especially invite school groups to attend this event, recognising young people's contribution to this important work.

This event is a continuing initiative of members of the Catholic, Anglican and Uniting Churches, and is supported by the Council of Christians and Jews (Victoria) and the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, Australia.

Event is Free | For Bookings, click here.

Kosher supper at 6:30pm and Memorial Service at 7pm.

An initiative of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and Uniting Church Synod of Victoria supported by the Council of Christians and Jews (Vic) and The Sisters of Our Lady Sion (Australia)
