On Monday 5th of August, in the spirit of building friendship across communities, the Buddhist Council of Victoria and the Australian Intercultural Society collabarated to arrange an Iftar dinner at the Vietnamese Quang Minh Buddhist temple in Braybrook.
The Iftar Dinner is a meal that marks the breaking of the fast during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
The event was attended by more than 100 representatives made up of members from the Buddhist Council of Victoria as well as Government, Interfaith and Muslim community leaders.
The event provided an opportunity to experience and understand the practice of fasting which is practiced by millions of Muslims around the world, young and old, and enabled guests to expand professional networks across cultural and religious boundaries.
ABC News made a short report that was aired shortly after the event which you click here to view.
