On Tuesday 5th of August, the Kingston Interfaith Network launched its annual Art Exhibition at St Nicholas Gallery Mordialloc. The event was opened by Mayor Councillor Paul Peulich and well attended by faith leaders, artists and local community.

The theme ‘Humanity, Harmony, Happiness’ attracted a wide range of entries from installations celebrating local Aboriginal history, photography, mosaics and paintings which reflect the diversity of peoples connection to spirituality and religion.

A special presentation by artist Bhakta Dasa took place on Sunday the 17th of August, accompanied by World musician Galereh Pour. Bhakta Dasa led a powerful discussion on Art and Spirituality, which demonstrated religions influence on a range of artists from Pollock to Picasso. He also discussed how the ancient Vedic Arts of India have influenced his current artistic direction and led a Question and Answer with other exhibiting artists. The exhibition and event has been a fantastic opportunity to understand how religion impacts people and the variety of ways people respond to spirituality in creative forms.
