Would your community organisation benefit from a more positive media profile? Are you prepared to face the media if a crisis affects your community?
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship (OMAC) is offering an Advanced Training Course to equip senior and up-and-coming leaders from culturally and religiously diverse communities, with the know-how to advance their organisational and community interests; and to effectively represent and promote their community to the media. The course will be conducted in Melbourne on Wednesday, September 19th 2012 (9am-5pm). Venue is yet to be confirmed.
The Advanced Training Course targets people who have a thorough working knowledge of the media, and extensive experience engaging with major media outlets (e.g. interviews, TV and radio appearances, published editorials in major newspapers, etc). This course is intensive and individually focussed, and will be a means for participants to further enhance their already strong media skills. Participants will work closely with media practitioners, and receive personal one-on-one advice and support from trainers, materials and an interview evaluation DVD.
Applications for expressions of interest will be accepted from 20 June 2012 to Friday 20 July 2012.
