Welcome to FCCV

Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.

FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

Act Now for a Peaceful World: Centre of Melbourne's Multi-faith and Others Network (COMMON)

Centre of Melbourne's Multi-faith and Others Network (COMMON) invites you to:

Act Now for a Peaceful World | UN International Peace Day

Date: Sunday 21 September 2025     Time: 11:30am to 3pm
Location: Scientology Community Centre, 231 Mount Alexander Rd, Ascot Vale

This year marks the 26th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace.

In that landmark declaration, the UN's most inclusive body recognised that peace is "not only the absence of conflict, but also requires a positive, dynamic participatory process where dialogue is encouraged and conflicts are solved in a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation."

The International Day of Peace has long been a time to lay down weapons and observe ceasefires. But now, more than ever, it must also be a time to see each other's humanity. Our survival as a global community depends on it. For this year's International Day of Peace 2025, the theme is "Act Now for a Peaceful World.".

Let us come together on this important day with a multifaith and multicultural celebrations, and take a meaningful step toward building a more peaceful, understanding and united world.

A delicious lunch will be served followed by a program with entertainment and presentations.
