Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.
FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

Gaza vigil: We will speak their names
Date: Wednesday 3 September 7:20am to Thursday 4 September 1:30pm, 2025
Location: The steps of Collins St Baptist Church, 174 Collins St, Melbourne
We will honour each life, mourn their futures that have been brutally taken.
For 30 continuous hours we will read the names of the more than 18,000 children killed in Gaza as well as the 210 children killed in the West Bank and the 40 children killed in Israel.
This vigil will be a prayerful expression of lament and outrage and we call for an end to the violence being inflicted on the people of Gaza.
Melbourne artists will share live music to accompany the honouring of the names from 6 to 10pm.
All are invited to join - in silent witness, in reading names. Musicians are invited to accompany the readings of names.
