Established in 2010, the Faith Communities Council of Victoria (FCCV) is Victoria’s umbrella multifaith body. It is the successor to the Leaders of Faith Communities Forum, founded in 1995.
FCCV was created to contribute to the harmony of the Victorian community by promoting positive relations between people of different faiths and greater public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, customs and practices of Victoria's diverse faith traditions.

Break Bread Shabbat Service
Date: Friday 1 May 2026 Time: 5pm to 7:30pm
Location: Location will be shared with registrants
Temple Beth Israel Synagogue (TBI) in partnership with Stand Up. are delighted to welcome you to a special Break Bread Kabbalat Shabbat - a special Friday night Shabbat service.
As part of the Break Bread initiative, this service will bring together interfaith and cultural leaders and community members. It is an opportunity to share traditions, foster meaningful connections, and strengthen our communities.
In these times, creating spaces for understanding and compassion is more important than ever.
Before the service, we invite you to join us for a pre-neg, where representatives from both the Jewish and wider community will share reflections on the significance of coming together. At this time, light refreshments will be served. Following this, you are invited to join us for a traditional Shabbat service with our congregation, featuring beautiful prayers, uplifting songs, and a Drasha (sermon) by Dr Philip Bliss OAM, previous chairman of the Victorian Council of Christians and Jews.
We would love for you to join us. Please kindly register so we can ensure everyone is catered to and to receive the address for the event. The event will be held at a St Kilda location and (for security purposes) full location details will be emailed to you closer to the event date.
